Residents recount losses as government recovery efforts continue in affected areas.

Vice President Sara Duterte personally visited earthquake-stricken communities in General Santos City and Glan, Sarangani, following the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that left widespread destruction and claimed lives in several areas.

Amid the grief and ongoing recovery efforts, Duterte inspected affected communities to assess the situation on the ground and extend her condolences to families who lost loved ones in the disaster.

The Vice President was accompanied by former Davao del Norte Governor and Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) Secretary General Anthony del Rosario during the visit to heavily damaged areas.

Beyond conducting inspections, Duterte met with residents and listened to their concerns and immediate needs. She also examined the extent of damage to homes, public facilities, and other infrastructure impacted by the powerful quake.

Photographs from the visit showed the Vice President speaking with and comforting grieving families, expressing solidarity with communities struggling to recover from the tragedy.

Meanwhile, local government units and national agencies continue to carry out relief operations and damage assessments to ensure that assistance reaches affected residents as quickly as possible.

As communities gradually begin the long process of rebuilding, residents remain hopeful that sustained government support will help accelerate rehabilitation efforts and restore normalcy in the affected areas.
