City government promotes creativity and community engagement through a celebration of local artists and youth

TAGUIG CITY — The Taguig Arts Festival 2026 has officially opened, showcasing a vibrant celebration of creativity aimed at giving artists and young people a platform to express their talents and share their stories with the community.

In her message during the opening program, Mayor Lani Cayetano emphasized the importance of the arts in community life, noting that creative expression reflects the identity of Filipinos and helps unite people despite differences in views and perspectives.

According to the mayor, the festival is part of the city government’s continuing effort to create more opportunities for local artists to showcase their skills and inspire others through their work.

Among the festival’s featured activities are the Tag Artist Exhibit at Heartmark, the Arts Appreciation Walk, and various creative workshops at TLC Park, where members of the public can participate in hands-on artistic activities and learn more about different art forms.

The festival also includes a special screening of the film “Sinantala” at the Taguig City University Auditorium, intended to encourage young people to explore opportunities in filmmaking and the broader creative industry.

City officials also called on parents and youth to support the arts and to embrace creativity without fear, stressing that artistic expression plays a vital role in strengthening culture, inspiring innovation, and fostering unity within the community.
