SINGSON CALLS FOR FULL PROBE, DEFENDS PEACEFUL ANTI-CORRUPTION PROTESTS

Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson called for a thorough investigation into the death of DPWH Undersecretary Cabral, which has been linked to flood control projects.

Speaking at a press conference, Singson said authorities must first determine the true circumstances surrounding the incident, adding that he does not believe the flood control project itself directly caused the death. Singson also addressed reports of arrests involving anti-corruption protesters, stressing that the public has the right to peaceful expression and to demand accountability, particularly on issues involving corruption and the use of public funds.
